WBJEE 2025 Results: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has confirmed that WBJEE 2025 results have been prepared since 5 June, according to media reports. But their formal release has been postponed because of legal and administrative issues.
What's Causing the Delay?
The main reason for the delay is a stay order by the Calcutta High Court on the enforcement of an updated OBC reservation list. The decision by the state government to include 76 new castes in the OBC category without conducting a formal survey has attracted judicial attention. The court has placed a stay order on the enforcement of the list until July 31, halting all processes that rely on category-wise rankings.
Since WBJEE ranks are allotted category-wise, the board has been holding back on results publication until legal clarification.
Board Statement and Student Concerns
While WBJEEB officials have not announced a specific date, reports suggest the results could be declared shortly after the court’s verdict. The delay has generated widespread anxiety among both students and teachers. Several have used social media platforms, especially X (previously Twitter), to express their concern regarding uncertainty in college admissions and its long-term effects, such as the possibility of a "brain drain" out of the state.
What's Next After the Results?
After the publication of results, WBJEEB will come out with a comprehensive counselling schedule. The counselling, an entirely online process, is the deciding factor for seat allotment in undergraduate engineering, architecture, and pharmacy courses in both government and private colleges of West Bengal.
The process will include:
-Registration
-College and course choice filling
-Document upload
-Seat allotment according to merit and choice
Students are advised to regularly check the official WBJEEB website for the latest updates.
