WBCAP Merit List 2025: The West Bengal Council of Higher Education (WBSCHE) will release the WBCAP Merit List 2025 today, August 7. Applicants who have applied for the first phase of undergraduate courses under the West Bengal Centralised Admission Process (WBCAP) will be able to check the merit list on the official website at wbcap.in.
In order to download the merit list, students will have to log in with their User ID and password on the portal.
What Next?
Students who are given a seat in this round will have to undergo the following steps such as, pay the seat acceptance fee using any online mode available, Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or QR Code. Download the provisional admission slip from their student dashboard. And report to the given college within the given timeline for document verification.
Merit list will be drawn on the basis of the performance of the candidates in their Class 12 or equivalent. Merit list contains the names of shortlisted candidates along with allotted college details and courses. Candidates should properly check the merit rank and allotted seat details. In case of discrepancies, they should immediately contact the concerned authorities for correction.
As per media reports, 477 colleges and universities in West Bengal are admitting almost 9.48 lakh students this year. Education authorities, however, anticipate a greater number of vacant seats as there has been a considerable fall in the number of regular HS pass-outs, only 4.3 lakh in 2025, as against more than 6.79 lakh in 2024.
