Lucknow: The Government of Uttar Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Monash University, Australia, to enhance global academic collaboration and raise education standards across the state. The agreement will enable teachers and students from basic, secondary, and higher education institutions to participate in international training, research, and innovation initiatives.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the collaboration is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and will advance multi-dimensional learning, skill development, and global engagement. Monash University will assist in teacher training, curriculum development, and technical exchange. Gautam Buddha University will serve as the nodal center for implementation.
CM Yogi emphasized education as the foundation of development and cited the Vedic maxim "aa no bhadra kratavo yantu vishwatah" to describe the MoU as a modern expression of ancient Indian educational philosophy.

Monash officials, including Vice-Chancellor Craig Jeffrey and Distinguished Professor Manisha Priyam, noted the partnership’s potential to redefine UP’s global academic identity. Priyam highlighted that Monash trains over 30,000 teachers annually, including those from conflict-affected nations.
Representatives from the Australian High Commission and senior officials from UP’s education departments were present. CM Yogi presented the visiting delegation with ODOP handicrafts, underscoring UP’s cultural depth and craftsmanship.
