CSIR UGC NET 2025 Notification: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the application process for the CSIR UGC NET June 2025 examination. The deadline to register will be June 23. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2025 exam at csirnet.nta.ac.in.
According to the schedule, the UGC CSIR NET exam will be held from July 26 and will conclude on July 28, 2025.
UGC CSIR NET June 2025: Exam Pattern
The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The candidates will be provided with a total of 180 minutes (three hours) to attempt the test consisting entirely of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The paper will be made available in a bi-lingual mode, and candidates can opt for either English or Hindi.
UGC CSIR NET June 2025: Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for the exam, candidates who are appearing for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) should not be more than 30 years old as on July 1, 2025. There are age relaxation provisions made, though: SC, ST, PwD, or female candidates are entitled to age relaxation of up to five years, while OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category candidates can benefit from a three-year relaxation. Candidates appearing for the Lectureship or Assistant Professor posts only have no age bar.
In terms of educational qualifications, the candidates should possess an M.Sc. or a qualifying postgraduate degree with 55% marks as minimum. There is a relaxation in the qualifying marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, who require a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates in their final year of qualifying degrees can also apply, subject to completing the requirements of their qualifying degree before the admission or fellowship process starts.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2025 test is a national-level examination held to decide the suitability of Indian candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), the post of Assistant Professor, and admission into Ph.D. courses in Indian institutions and colleges.
