A disturbing video has surfaced online showing Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir allegedly assaulting a West Bengal government official inside his office at the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) in Salt Lake, Kolkata. The incident, caught on CCTV, has gone viral after being shared by Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The footage shows Pralay Chakraborty, Assistant Registrar of WBUHS, being physically attacked by Kabir. The incident reportedly took place inside Chakraborty’s office located in Salt Lake, on the northern fringes of Kolkata.
According to Adhikari, the video clip was sourced from a CCTV camera installed at the office and shows Kabir kicking, punching, and verbally abusing the official. Chakraborty can be seen attempting to shield himself before eventually fleeing the scene to avoid further harm.
"It is common knowledge that the audacity & arrogance of the Trinamool Congress leaders knows no bounds. A shocking incident has come to light, exposing the lawlessness and arrogance that have become the hallmark of Mamata Banerjee’s regime. CCTV footage from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) in Salt Lake reveals a disgraceful act: Former Minister & Trinamool Congress MLA from Debra; Humayun Kabir (Ex IPS), physically assaulting Assistant Registrar Shri Pralay Chakraborty inside his own office," Adhikari wrote in a strongly worded statement accompanying the video. He further criticised the Health Department for maintaining silence on the matter despite the footage being widely circulated.

"To the authorities, I say: enough is enough. The time for excuses is over. Immediate and strict action must be taken against the culprit, regardless of his political connections," further added.
While the video has triggered public outrage and demands for action. Neither the WBUHS administration nor the state police has issued an official response as of now.
