Mumbai Shocker: TISS Student Found Dead, Ragging Angle Under Investigation

He was reportedly found dead in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, 2024. The late student was pursing his education at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.

Mumbai: In a heartbreaking incident, a TISS student was discovered dead on Saturday. It is being alleged that this could be a case of ragging. According to NDTV, the student is identified as Anurag Jaiswal. He hailed from Lucknow, was found dead at his rented apartment. 

The student’s family lives in Lucknow, where he originals hails from, while he was living in Mumbai in a rented apartment with 3 roommates to pursue his education.

He was reportedly found dead in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, 2024, as per NDTV report. The late student was pursing his education at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. 

On Friday, August 23, 2024, he reportedly went to a friend’s party in Vashi. NDTV report stated that there were a total of 150 students at that party including the late student. 

On Saturday morning, his roommates were alarmed when Jaiswal did not wake up and rushed him to the hospital. They reportedly took him to a hospital in Chembur. Jaiswal was announced dead by the hospital. 

According to NDTV, the parents of the late student have requested the police to not perform postmortem until they arrive in Mumbai. 

The police suspect this case could have a ragging angle to it. They have also questioned Jaiswal’s three roommates in relation to this case. Investigation on the case is currently underway. More details on this case are awaited.
