Mumbai: In a meaningful step toward building a culture of care and emotional strength on an educational campus, K J Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM) launched a student-led initiative SAHARA dedicated to supporting mental wellness and holistic wellbeing within its campus community.
Rooted in the values of support, awareness, healing, acceptance, resilience, and action, SAHARA is a safe space for individuals to seek help, share openly, and build emotional resilience together. It brought together students, faculty, mental health professionals, and wellness partners to celebrate the beginning of what was described as “more than just a launch but a mindset shift.”

Statement Of Dr Raman Ramachandran, Director Of KJSIM
Raman Ramachandran, director of KJSIM, emphasised the importance of creating a culture rooted in empathy and support. “We often perceive our struggles as weaknesses, something that we don’t talk about. At KJSIM, your challenges matter as much as your achievements, and you don’t have to face them alone. With SAHARA, you have a safe, discreet space to seek support when you need it,” he said.
The initiative is being led by the college’s senior manager and head of admin and operations Arti Bhargava, who shared its core pillars, including access to a digital wellness app via Phybercare, confidential counselling sessions with trained professionals and a year-long calendar of workshops, campaigns, and support spaces.

As part of its commitment to making mental wellness both accessible and personalised, the institute announced its partnership with Phybercare, a tech-enabled platform that allows students and faculty to schedule appointments, access wellness resources, and track their emotional journey through a secure mobile app.
