The school topper and Arts topper, Samyak said, "I was simultaneously preparing for my school exams and the CLAT entrance test for NLU. I began my coaching for the entrance exam in November 2023, so I had to manage both—my academics and entrance preparation—together.
Since the entrance test was scheduled for December, my primary focus was on that. School exams became secondary during that period. I didn’t pay much attention to school lectures at the time. I started preparing for school only before the periodic tests, and I gave them quite randomly without much effort, as most of my energy was directed toward the entrance exam.
After giving the CLAT exam and qualifying in both the CLAT and AILET, I shifted all my attention back to board preparations. I missed the first pre-board, but I did appear for the second pre-board. My performance was average—not great, but not too bad either.
At that point, my school teachers realized my potential, and they began giving me and Joshua personal attention. We both used to visit school regularly for one-on-one interactions. The teachers helped us clear our doubts, practice with sample papers, and revise important topics.
We were also called for extra revision classes, which helped us a lot. That’s pretty much how I managed my preparation. I didn’t attend any special coaching for Humanities subjects, nor did I rely on any local reference guides. I studied strictly from NCERT books and solved only one or two sample papers before the board exams."
