JoSAA Counselling 2025 Seat Allotment Result: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has published the Round 5 seat allotment result for the counselling process 2025. The candidates who had appeared in the round can now check their allotment status by logging into the website at josaa.nic.in through their JEE Main or JEE Advanced credentials.
Students who have been assigned a seat in this round need to finish the online reporting procedure by July 14. This involves accepting the seat, remitting the seat acceptance fee, and submitting the documents required online. Inability to do these within the stated timeframe can lead to the forfeiture of the assigned seat.
A choice to withdraw or opt out of the counselling process is open from July 12 to July 14. Candidates must note that once Round 5 is completed, withdrawal or opt-out will no longer be possible for candidates who are given seats in IITs. For NITs, IIITs, and Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), candidates can opt-out during Round 6, which is the last round.
JoSAA offers the candidates three seat acceptance choices—Freeze, Float, and Slide. The 'Freeze' choice permits candidates to accept the seat allocated and exclude themselves from future rounds. The 'Float' choice enables candidates to accept the seat but keep themselves available for better preferences in future rounds. The 'Slide' option allows candidates to accept the seat while waiting for a higher-preference course within the same institute.
The JoSAA counselling procedure allows admission to B.Tech and allied programs in a few of India's premier technical institutions, namely the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other GFTIs.
Applicants are advised to perform all the necessary steps prior to the deadlines and monitor the official JoSAA website frequently for news concerning the final round of counselling, which will end on July 21, 2025.
