In the biggest achievement for IIT Patna, 26 pre-final year undergraduate students have landed summer internships at Google, one of the most coveted opportunities in the tech industry. The internships will be held for 12 weeks, from May to July 2025, and provide exposure to real projects and global tech teams.

Promoting Female Participation in Tech
Of the 26 chosen students, 11 are female, a consistent increase in women participation in high-pressure tech internships. This is an important step toward gender diversity in engineering and computing positions.

Selection Through a Rigorous Assessment Process
Applicants underwent a rigorous online assessment round, which makes their selection all the more exemplary. The process evaluated coding skills, problem-solving capacity, and field-related knowledge pertinent to the internship positions.
Opportunities and Industry Exposure
Interns would be assigned live Google projects, would be able to work with the best developers in the world, and would understand the company's engineering workflow. This experience routinely turns into pre-placement offers (PPOs) and full-time employment, based on intern performance.
About the Google Internship Process
The recruitment procedure for Google internships starts with a screening of resumes. The shortlisted candidates are sent a survey depending on their preferences of job roles and locations. If their profile fits, they are called for technical phone interviews. This systematic approach helps ensure that only the most appropriate candidates make it through.
Stipend Between Rs 70,000 to Rs 2 Lakh Per Month
Though Google has not announced publicly the stipend levels for this round, Google internships are paid in full, generally between Rs 70,000 and Rs 2 lakh per month, based on the location of the intern and role assigned.
