HSNC University, Mumbai to Host District Level Rounds of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 for Mumbai & Palghar Districts: Last Date to Register & Participate Extended to 16th March 2025

HSNC University, Mumbai is all set to host the District rounds of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, a prestigious initiative aimed at empowering young minds and fostering leadership among students in Mumbai and Palghar districts. Registration and application process has started.

HSNC University, Mumbai is all set to host the District rounds of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, a prestigious initiative aimed at empowering young minds and fostering leadership among students in Mumbai and Palghar districts. The registration and application process has already started. The District level competition will be held at HSNC University, Mumbai while State Level round will be held in the State Assembly and National round will be held at Parliament House, New Delhi. This is an opportunity for students and youth leaders to step into the shoes of policymakers and debate pressing national and global issues, all while developing critical skills in leadership, public speaking and diplomacy.

Interested participants from Mumbai and Palghar can register at mybharat.gov.in (Scan the QR Code) and upload a 1-minute video on “What does Viksit Bharat mean to You?”

Col. Dr. Hemlata K. Bagla, Vice Chancellor, HSNC University, Mumbai highlighted that the event will bring together young leaders to engage in discussions on governance, policies and the role of youth in nation-building.

Stating that the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament initiative would help in achieving the goal of a Viskit Bharat (developed nation) by 2047, Dr. Bagla urged all students from all colleges and Universities in Mumbai and Palghar to make the program successful by engaging maximum youth.

During the event's banner unveiling, Dr. Bagla said, “The District round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is not just a discussion forum; it is a movement towards shaping a progressive India. Hosting this event aligns with our  Univeristy’s mission to nurture responsible, well-informed and proactive citizens”.

Dr. Satish Kolte, Director of NSS Cell, HSNC University, Mumbai said that “The event aims to develop leadership skills and foster community responsibility among the youth.”

This year's Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament marks a significant shift from previous formats, with all competition rounds taking place offline. The programme follows a three-tier structure progressing from District to State and finally to national levels.

01. Time line for registration - 27th February to 16th  March 2025 (11.59 pm)

02. Age (as on 24.02.2025) - 18-25 years

03. Registration - via MY Bharat Portal Link https://mybharat.gov.in/  and one minute video submission on the topic- “What does Viksit Bharat Mean to you?” 

A maximum of 150 participants will be short listed for the District Nodal round to be conducted from 17th to 26th March 2025. Each participant will be given 3 minutes to speak on the topic “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat”. Participants can  speak in English or Marathi or Hindi.

From each district node, 10 participants will qualify for the State Championship round which will be conducted at State Assembly venues in between 17th to 26th March 2025 and the top three will be selected for the National Level round to be held at Samvidhan Sadan (Parliament House), New Delhi from 1st to 2nd April 2025.

Each phase of the competition will focus on key democratic and constitutional themes. The State-level discussions will cover ‘75 Years of the Indian Constitution: A Journey of Rights, Duties and Progress’ and ‘The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A Pledge to Strengthen India’s Constitutional Values.’

The national-level debate will centre around ‘One Nation, One Election: Simplifying Democracy, Amplifying Progress, Ensuring Stability.’

The initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, aims to engage young Indians in structured policy discussions contributing to the nation's development goals for 2047. Supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the initiative encourages students to actively participate in democratic processes and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat.

The event will be held at HSNC University, Mumbai with registrations open until 11.59 p.m. on 16th March 2025, on My Bharat Portal. Students, young professionals and aspiring leaders are encouraged to register and be part of this transformative experience.
