Delhi School Admissions 2025: The Directorate of Education (DoE) has reopened the application process because certain seats designated under the disability quota for nursery, kindergarten, and Class I admissions at Delhi's private schools are still unfilled. Children with disabilities now have a fresh chance to be admitted under the reserved category.
According to DoE, the new application period will open today, June 2, 2025. Through the official lottery system webpage, qualified students and their parents can submit an online application. The empty seats designated for children with impairments in private unaided schools are the specific focus of this prolonged admission cycle.
"To ensure transparency and thorough verification, 29 zonal teams have been constituted to scrutinise the applications and supporting documents. These teams will handle verification in coordination with the respective schools," an official stated. The deadline for submitting documents is June 10–14, working days, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schools will not be allowed to refuse admission once a student has been assigned a seat through the lottery system.
Why was the registration window reopened?
After the first admission cycle ended on May 25, it was found that many reserved seats were still available, so a second application window was opened. DoE emphasized that admissions will only be made once proper evidence, such as a disability certificate from a government hospital, is submitted. It is forbidden for schools to unilaterally refuse applications.
Strict rules are in place to stop the quota from being misused. A reputable government medical body must issue the disability certificate. Furthermore, under the guise of this procedure, kids who are currently enrolled in a school will not be considered for transfer. The goal is to guarantee that only underprivileged and truly eligible children receive high-quality education and benefit from the reserved seats.
