As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X and XII board examinations are underway, the Board has issued a stern warning against the spread of misinformation and false claims regarding paper leaks on social media platforms. This follows a surge in rumours circulating on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X, falsely alleging paper leaks. CBSE has categorically denied these claims, calling them ‘baseless’ and an attempt to create unnecessary panic among students and parents during the ongoing exams.

The CBSE examinations, which commenced recently, will continue until 4 April 2025. “The Board has implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations. However, it has come to CBSE’s attention that certain individuals are deliberately spreading false information about paper leaks or claiming access to examination question papers,” stated the statement.

CBSE has assured the public that it is actively monitoring social media platforms and taking strict action against those responsible for disseminating such misinformation. The Board is also working in coordination with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute offenders. Students found to be involved in such activities will face disciplinary action under CBSE’s ‘Unfair Means Rules’, in addition to potential legal consequences under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The Board has advised all stakeholders, including students, parents, and schools, to rely solely on official communications available on the CBSE website and verified public channels for authentic updates.

CBSE has reiterated its commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process and has stated that legal action will be taken against individuals found responsible for spreading falsehoods.
