Mumbai: For the first time in 175 years Bombay Scottish School, Mahim hosted its first-ever inter-school, student-led cultural fest. With over 800 participants from 19 schools across Mumbai, Perseverantia was a force to be reckoned with.

The Latin word Perseverantia, which was the theme of the fest, is derived from the school's motto, Perseverantia et faith in deo, and implies perseverance—to not give up even when all goes wrong. Students from various schools were encouraged to come forth and give their best shot in the array of curated events of this fest.

This event aimed to acknowledge and encourage students to tackle pressing issues every year. Events were planned in a way that allowed for the creative use of everyone's skills.

Mrs. Sunita George, principal of Bombay Scottish, Mahim said, "The event was a huge success. This was just the beginning of our planned fests. We will be following the same motto of Preserve. Prevent. Prevail with different themes every year."

"These brilliant young minds gave it their all to make it a grand success. From case studies, negotiations, and debates about how various corporate policies affected climate change to digital art and Panache, our fashion show, which placed an emphasis on sustainable clothing, and gave students the opportunities to gain knowledge in various fields. We've had a series of creative events," she added.

The fest had 11 events that brought uniqueness and change to the table. Each of these events were judged by individuals who excelled in their respective fields. Events were fabricated to link education and excitement because the school has always believed in creating an atmosphere where students enjoy while learning.

The creation of Perseverantia was intended to commemorate a milestone for Scottish. Three Scottishites, Tia Nagpal, Tarun Patil, and Laksh Sharma, who were in the 12th grade, founded Perseverantia to celebrate Scottish's 175th anniversary, giving its first unique signature fest that will surely continue for years to come. Many of our judges who had previously attended Bombay Scottish School were now seated at the judge's table, filled with nostalgia
