Panic gripped Bengaluru on Friday morning after at least 40 schools across the city received bomb threat emails, triggering evacuations, heightened security, and widespread concern among parents and students. The threats were made just hours after a similar incident in Delhi, when earlier in the day, such emails were sent to more than 20 institutions.

According to India Today report, schools in several parts of Bengaluru, including Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri, were targeted. Search operations were launched immediately, with bomb squads and dog squads deployed to school campuses.

20 Delhi School receive fresh bomb threats

The incident in Bengaluru closely follows a similar pattern seen in the national capital. Earlier on Friday, schools in Delhi, including the Sovereign School in Rohini, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, and St. Xavier's in Civil Lines, received threatening texts. This was the fourth day in a row that the city had seen such a hoax threat.

Over 20 schools received the email on Friday alone, according to Delhi Police. Between 5:30 and 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, threat emails were sent to schools such as Mother's International in Hauz Khas, Vasant Valley in Vasant Kunj, and St. Thomas in Dwarka.

While no actual threats have been confirmed so far, the repeated hoax emails have left families anxious and have disrupted school operations in both cities.

Delhi College

A bomb threat was also sent earlier this week to the University of Delhi's St. Stephen's College. According to officials, the email claimed that a bomb had been hidden in the library.

The Delhi Police Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, Delhi Fire Brigade team, and Special Staff team are on the scene after both places were evacuated. It was roped off, and an extensive AS check is underway. The Delhi Police say they have not yet discovered anything suspicious.
