The Economic Survey of India for the fiscal year 2024-25 has been tabled by the Union Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman.

The report was tabled by the FM in the lower house of the parliament, the Lok Sabha, at around 13:00 hours.

Both houses of the parliament have now been adjourned for the day until the Budget Speech, which is slated to begin at 11:00 hrs on Saturday, February 1.

The Budget session of 2025 has begun and will conclude on April 4.

The Union Budget 2025 will be presented for the upcoming fiscal year of 2025-2026 or FY26.

The Economic Survey of India for the previous fiscal year, in this case, 2024-25 encapsulates data, talking about the status of the Indian Economy.

The Economic Survey, therefore is known as the Report card of the Indian economy. This is because it presents various aspects of the Indian economy, and its rate of progression over the past fiscal year.

The economic survey gives us gist into the country's performance over the past fiscal year.

It presents the platform on which the government can take future steps to work towards the progress and growth of the country.

Furthermore, there are two sections to it. The main economic events of the year and a general assessment of the economy are typically included in Part A.

Particular topics including social security, poverty, healthcare, education, human development, and climate change, are covered in the second section or Part B.

The press conference on the Economic Survey will be held by the country's Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) Venkatramanan Anantha Nageswaran at 14:00 hrs IST.
