Yoga Guru and Patanjali Group's chief Ramdev Baba has hit out at US president Donald Trump over his economic and trade policies.

Ramdev Baba Takes On Trump

Ramdev has aimed at the 47th president's use of tariffs against other nations for goods that are imported into the United States.

US President Donald Trump's economic policy/plan that is oriented in tariffs has gotten to a rocky start, as the 47th president has had to go back and forth with the imposition of the same on the world's largest economy's trading partners.

While speaking at the inauguration of a facility in Maharashtra's Nagpur, Ramdev came down heavily on Trump's erratic policies.

Intellectual Colonization

While speaking to the media present at the plant, Ramdev said, "There is a new era of intellectual colonization."

He even termed the current regime of tariffs as tariff terror. Ramdev went onto add, "Amid this, ever since Donald Trump rose to power, he created a new world record of 'tariff terrorism'."

Ramdev's statement took a polemic route when he accused Donald Trump of ripping of democracy and threatening poor and developing nations.

Furthermore, contrary to his recent rhetoric, Ramdev invoked the need for a unite front against the threat of tariffs from the Trump administration.

The Looming Fear Of Tariffs

"He has ripped off democracy by threatening poor and developing nations. This is 'economic terrorism'. He is taking the world to a different era. In such a case, India needs to develop. All Indians should unite to build a strong nation and answer all these destructive powers.", added Ramdev.

These comments come at a time, when the Indian government has maintained a tight-lip around the reciprocal tariff on Indian imports to the United States, which is slated to kick-in on April 2.

Some reports also suggested that the US administration has demanded near-zero tariffs on US imports, coming to India.

The controversial spiritual guru was in Nagpur, where he was also heard talking about his new processing unit in the orange city.

While speaking to the media, he also added, "This plant has a processing capacity of 800 tons of orange juice per day. The most important aspect is that the juice extracted here will be 100 per cent natural—without any preservatives or added sugar. It will provide health benefits to the nation and prosperity to farmers."
