New Delhi: Roshni Nadar, the chairperson of HCL, has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to break into the global top 10 women billionaires, according to the recently released Hurun Global Rich List 2025. With a staggering net worth of Rs 3.5 lakh crore, Nadar ranked as the fifth richest woman globally, solidifying her place among the world’s wealthiest individuals.
Gautam Adani’s Wealth Soars to New Heights
Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has emerged as India’s biggest wealth gainer, according to the Hurun Global Rich List 2025. His net worth surged by nearly Rs 1 lakh crore, reflecting a 13 percent increase, bringing his total fortune to Rs 8.4 lakh crore. This significant gain has placed Adani as the second richest person in India, securing the 18th spot globally.

Adani’s growth is remarkable, as he heads a diverse conglomerate that spans across sectors such as renewable energy, ports, airports, mining, power generation, media, and cement. Adani, who was briefly Asia's richest person in 2024, started as a commodity trader and has grown his business empire considerably, surpassing many well-established industrialists.
Mukesh Ambani Faces Setback
In contrast, Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, witnessed a decline in his wealth. His net worth dropped by Rs 1 lakh crore, now standing at Rs 8.6 lakh crore. This decrease, largely attributed to rising debt levels, resulted in Ambani slipping from the global top 10 wealthiest individuals list. Despite the setback, Ambani remains Asia's richest person.

Wipro founder Aziz Premji follows closely in fifth place with Rs 2.2 lakh crore. The list also includes industrialists such as Kumar Mangalam Birla and Cyrus S. Poonawalla, both with Rs 2 lakh crore.
Global Billionaire Landscape
The Hurun Global Rich List 2025 ranks 3,442 billionaires across 71 countries, reflecting a 5 percent increase in the number of billionaires from last year.
