Patna: During a large public rally at Gandhi Maidan in Motihari, East Champaran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 7,217 crore. These projects span multiple sectors, aiming to uplift infrastructure, rail connectivity, and regional development in Bihar.

Among the key launches was the flagging off of four Amrit Bharat trains, which aim to enhance rail connectivity in eastern India. PM Modi emphasized that the Centre is working closely with the Bihar government to fast-track infrastructure and create local employment opportunities.

New Employment Scheme for Private Sector Entrants

A key highlight of the rally was the Prime Minister's announcement of a new employment incentive scheme. Under this scheme, the government will provide a Rs 15,000 one-time incentive to individuals who secure their first job in the private sector. The scheme will be implemented from August 1, with the Centre allocating Rs 1 lakh crore for its execution.

PM Modi described this move as a step towards creating “new employment for new youth,” asserting that it will particularly benefit the young population of Bihar, helping them find opportunities within their own state.

Criticism of Past Governance, Vision for Developed Bihar

The Prime Minister did not miss the chance to criticize previous RJD-Congress governments, accusing them of corruption and neglect. He cited how funds meant for the poor were allegedly siphoned off and said the NDA government has now ensured direct benefits to the marginalized through schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana.

Modi recalled times when families were hesitant to display wealth due to fear of extortion. He emphasized the transformation brought about by financial inclusion and reiterated his commitment to a “Developed Bihar”, with employment for every youth and opportunities for growth without migration.
