Online entertainment and gaming services and mobile apps have witnessed a strong growth during the pandemic. The lockdowns announced by governments across the world have pushed people to alternative means of entertainment while they were stuck at home. While online gaming was already witnessing growth before pandemic due to immersive experience and better consumer interface, the lockdowns resulted in people spending more time on their handheld devices.

The pandemic has also shifted focus to many services that could be provided online and many companies have decided to permanently offer remote working options to some of their staff members. This paradigm shift has been witnessed even in bigger technology companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook and Netflix. Indian software industry has witnessed a strong demand over the last few quarters and this has resulted in stock valuations of many Indian technology companies touching their all-time highs.

Online gaming and sports betting have also witnessed growth during the last few quarters. The platforms offering online casino and sports betting options for bettors have improved their service quality and response time with better performing servers. Online gambling platforms like Casibella offer detailed reviews of igaming operators, card games and all the major sports events.

Many business segments have witnessed a strong growth during pandemic. Online entertainment, OTT platforms, online gaming and sports betting have witnessed strong growth in India during the pandemic. As people need more options for entertainment, mobile apps and i-gaming platforms have registered a strong growth.

Other than technology sector, many other segments like healthcare, home-fitness, supplements have also registered growth during pandemic. People have become health concious and many have turned to online advice and forums for improving their fitness levels. Improving immunity has been one of the goals for many people who frequently visit online health forums.

Indian software industry has been one of the major services export segment and forex earner for the country. During COVID-19 pandemic, as majority of businesses had no option but to offer their services online, software and app development companies have gained market share. Many employees have been shifted from regular office jobs to work-from-home and this has resulted in higher demand for internet services, telecom data, computer hardware and software services.

As per stock market data, automobile companies have reported strong sales after lockdowns were lifted as many people in big cities plan to shift to personal vehicle instead of using public transport. With government focus on vaccination, the number of cases have been declining steadily. Travel sector is opening up and people are already making plans for holidays. However, the world won’t be the same after we deal with COVID-19 pandemic and the situation returns back to normal.
