Several US companies, including chipmaker Nvidia, have reportedly confirmed attendance at the third edition of the China International Supply Chain Expo. The flagship supply chain exhibition is scheduled for July in Beijing and over 100 exhibitors from US and Europe are taking part. The five-day event will begin on July 16. This comes as tensions between US and China escalate due to ongoing tariff war and trade tensions. US continues to put restrictions on China’s semiconductor industry, pushing Beijing to invoke anti-foreign sanction laws in retaliation.
Amidst these tensions, Nvidia looks to make its debut at the China Expo 2025 in Beijing this year, Chinese broadcast media CCTV reports. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) organises the annual event, and it states that western participation has grown despite the trade tensions.
Nvidia reportedly saw a hit in revenue adding up to $15 million due to US export curbs on its H20 chip. The company is said to now be developing a new AI chip specifically for the Chinese market. Nvidia is expected to unveil the chip at the expo in July.
Deputy Director of the council, Yu Jianlong, told the South China Morning Post that American companies have increased by 15 percent compared to last year. Furthermore, Jianlong informed that non-mainland Chinese representation accounted for 35 percent of the total participation.
The China Supply Chain Expo 2025 is said to see over 100 new product new launches from more than 650 companies participating. These companies come from smart vehicles, digital technology, and advanced manufacturing industries.
