Nothing Phone 3 will offer seven years of total software support. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has confirmed that this while responding to a user query on social media. The Nothing Phone 3 is all set to be unveiled on July 1. Teasers have started to come in and the flagship device is set to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor.
Evangelidis took to Twitter to respond to a user query on Nothing’s decision to integrate the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC and not last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. To this, he replied that the newer chip enables a longer support time. The last year’s processor offers four years of software support, but the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 enables five years of operating system updates and seven years of total software support that includes security patches.
Nothing Phone 3 will go on sale on Flipkart in India. The global unveil event will be live streamed on YouTube on July 1 at 6pm BST (10:30pm IST). Tipped specifications include a 5,000mAh battery. The price of the Nothing Phone 3 may be somewhere around Rs. 90,000 in India and it is likely to compete with flagship phones of Samsung and Apple in the smartphone market.
Leaks suggest that the Nothing Phone 3 may have a unique transparent back panel design. It may have a circular rear camera setup at the back with three sensors. One of the cameras is a seen to be a periscope telephoto lens and there’s also a flash sitting on top it, inside the circular camera module setup. Official details will be unveiled at the launch event on July 1.
