India’s Billionaire Count Grows Slightly |

According to Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List 2025, India now has 205 billionaires, up from 200 last year. Despite the increase, the total wealth of these billionaires dropped to USD 941 billion from USD 954 billion in 2024.

This decline is mainly due to falling stock prices of major Indian companies, which affected the net worth of the country’s top billionaires.

Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani’s Rankings

Mukesh Ambani remains India’s richest person, with a net worth of USD 92.5 billion in 2025. However, his global ranking has dropped from 9th to 18th place. This is a significant fall from his previous net worth of USD 116 billion.

Gautam Adani is the second-richest Indian, with a net worth of USD 56.3 billion. His ranking also reflects the volatile market conditions affecting his business empire.
