Adman Prahlad Kakkar, the founder of Genesis Film Productions, said he always wanted to ask this oft-repeated joke about Milkha Singh to the Flying Sikh who passed away of COVID complications on Friday night (June 19).

When asked to share his views of Milkha Singh and if he had worked with him on any endorsements, Kakkar said: No, I have not worked with him, but have met him fleetingly! And had to stop myself from asking him, “ Are you relaxing, “ in the hope that he answered “ No, I am Milkha Singh”!!"

Kakkar said that he did not have the 'opportunity' to work with Singh on any advertisements. But he did harbour dreams of doing so. In fact, says Kakkar, he discussed it with PepsiCo, but the brand turned down the idea.

"I had an idea once, where he [Milkha Singh] is drinking a Pepsi next to a pool in bermudas and a sexy young lady asks him are you relaxing and of course he replies: No, I am Milkha Singh! So she points to the Pepsi and asks, “So who is that” and he replies ,“ oh, that’s Relax Singh! Pepsi didn’t buy it."

Though Kakkar never got the opportunity to work with the Flying Sikh on an advertisement, he describes him as an 'awesome man'. And said, he had an 'awesome dedication!' What was admirable was that Milkha Singh took 'No short cuts!', he said.
