Facing issues with your old Aadhaar card? The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) now offers a more durable and secure option: the Aadhaar PVC card. This card, made from high-quality Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), is similar in design to a PAN card but comes with enhanced security features.
Key Benefits of the Aadhaar PVC Card
Durability: Made from durable plastic, it withstands wear and tear.
Security Features: Includes a secure QR code, hologram, micro text, and issuance date for added security.
Convenient: Easier to carry, less prone to damage compared to paper-based Aadhaar cards.
Who Can Apply for the Aadhaar PVC Card?
Any individual with a valid Aadhaar number is eligible to apply. The process is simple and can be done online through the UIDAI website.
Step-by-Step Process to Order Your Aadhaar PVC Card
Visit the UIDAI Official Website: Go to uidai.gov.in and select “Order Aadhaar PVC Card.”
Enter Aadhaar Details: Submit your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Verification: Fill in the security captcha code and click on “Send OTP.”
OTP Confirmation: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click “Submit.”
Proceed to Payment: After verification, click “Next” and choose your preferred payment method (credit/debit card, net banking, UPI).
Pay the Fee: A fee of Rs. 50 is required for processing the PVC card.
Processing and Delivery: After payment, your Aadhaar PVC card will be dispatched via speed post to your registered address.
Avoid printing Aadhaar cards from local markets or third-party vendors. Such cards are not valid as they lack the security features embedded in the official UIDAI-issued PVC cards.
