Prime Minister Modi, while on his two-day visit to the United States, met a plethora of big names. The biggest of all, needless to say was that of the head of state of the United States, the new president, Donald J Trump.
Apart from holding a meeting and a media briefing with the 47th US president, PM Modi also held meetings with other important figures in the corridors of power of the United States. One of the biggest meetings that PM Modi held was with Tesla, SpaceX, and X chief Elon Musk.
Musk On PM Modi Meeting
Elon Musk is currently also the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. This department, as per reports, has insurmountable influence over the functioning of the US government under the Trump Administration.
Elon Musk has now shared his thoughts on the meeting with PM Modi. In a post on his own social media platform, X, Musk said, "It was an honor to meet."
PM Modi on Meeting
Musk quoted a post from Modi, who had earlier shared moments from his meeting with Musk and his family on X.
In his post earlier, Modi said the following.
"Had a very good meeting with @elonmusk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about such as space, mobility, technology and innovation. I talked about India’s efforts towards reform and furthering ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.", said PM Modi.
In another post, the PM also added, "It was also a delight to meet Mr. @elonmusk’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects!
PM Modi Meets Vivek Ramaswamy
In addition to Musk, PM Modi also met with another major name in the political landscape of US politics. Modi had a meeting with Indian-Origin American bio-tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
In a post, Modi said, "Met Mr. @VivekGRamaswamy and his father-in-law in Washington DC. We talked about diverse issues including innovation, culture and more."
Amidst the hostilities surrounding the crucial H1-B visa, an issue that the incumbent Republican party is staunchly in favour of cutting down, the likes of Musk and Ramaswamy have advocated for the visa.
