In a move to simplify tax payments and enhance digital convenience, the Income Tax Department has updated the list of banks authorized under the e-Pay Tax Service on its e-Filing portal. With 30 banks now included, taxpayers have more options to make direct tax payments, reducing dependency on traditional methods.

Seamless Tax Payment with e-Filing

The e-Filing portal enables taxpayers to file income tax returns and make tax payments completely online. With secure access through PAN-based login credentials, individuals and businesses can complete transactions effortlessly. This initiative supports the government’s vision of a digital, paperless tax system, making compliance more accessible and hassle-free.

Who Can Pay Taxes via e-Pay Tax Service?

Taxpayers holding accounts in the 30 authorized banks can directly pay their taxes online through the Income Tax e-Filing portal. The updated list includes 17 private sector banks and 13 public sector banks, covering a wide range of banking options.

For every tax payment, taxpayers must generate a Challan Reference Number (CRN), ensuring smooth tracking and verification.
