The FASTag Annual Pass is a new plan by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. For Rs 3,000, you can travel on national highways and expressways without paying toll charges each time. This pass is valid for one year or 200 trips, whichever comes first.

Who Should Use This Pass?

This is perfect for people who travel regularly on highways—like daily commuters or frequent travelers. You won’t have to stop at toll booths again and again. Just activate the pass once and enjoy smoother rides.

When Does It Start?

The Annual FASTag Pass will be available from August 15, 2025.

Where Can You Buy It?

You can buy the pass only through the ‘Rajmarg Yatra’ mobile app or the official NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) website.

How to Activate the Pass on Your FASTag?

Make sure your FASTag is working and linked to your vehicle registration number.

Check that it is not blacklisted.

Log in to the ‘Rajmarg Yatra’ app or NHAI website.

Pay Rs 3,000 and activate the pass after your car details are verified.

How Long Will It Work?

The pass will work for:

1 year from the date of activation, or

200 trips, whichever is completed first.

After this, your FASTag will go back to normal. You’ll need to renew the annual pass to get the benefit again.

How Is a Trip Counted?

At point-based toll plazas:

Every time you pass through a toll, it counts as one trip.

Going to a place and returning will count as two trips.

At closed toll systems (like expressways):

One complete journey (entry to exit) is one trip.

Will You Get SMS Alerts?

Yes, when you activate the pass, the Rajmarg Yatra app will use your bank-registered mobile number to send you important alerts via SMS.
