In an attempt to assuage investors and stakeholders in the artificial intelligence business, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has vowed to produce more competitive systems.
This comes after DeepSeek, which became the top AI application on Apple iPhone's App Store sent the US markets and companies into panic mode.
Sam Altman Has Microsoft's Back
The DeepSeek AI bot exhibited capabilities equivalent to Altman's ChatGPT, with fewer chips and data, thereby reducing the overall cost and time required to manufacture the product.
In his latest post X, Sam Altman shared a symbolically important post. Altman shared a post, which carried a photograph of him with Microsoft boss, Satya Nadella.

This, in a way could be deemed as an attempt to underscore the fact that Altman has Microsoft's back and the company continues to have confidence in his company amidst the concerns.
In his post, Altman remarked, "next phase of the msft x oai partnership is gonna be much better than anyone is ready for!!"
Satya Nadella replied to this post and said, "Looking forward to all that’s ahead!"
It is important to note, that it was Satya Nadella-led Microsoft's influence, that brought Sam Altman back on board at OpenAI after he was ousted in 2024.
Earlier, Altman had put out another post, in which he acknowledged the feat that DeepSeek had achieved while underscoring his company's commitment towards creating cutting-edge technology.
'Will Pull Up Some Releases'
"deepseek's r1 is an impressive model, particularly around what they're able to deliver for the price. we will obviously deliver much better models and also it's legit invigorating to have a new competitor! we will pull up some releases." Sam Altman remarked.
He further added, "but mostly we are excited to continue to execute on our research roadmap and believe more computing is more important now than ever before to succeed at our mission.
the world is going to want to use a LOT of ai, and really be quite amazed by the next gen models coming."
He also said, "look forward to bringing you all AGI and beyond.'
