Airtel promises massive speeds on all 5G smart phones; no extra cost, no SIM change needed

Airtel said that no SIM change needed, existing Airtel 4G SIM is 5G enabled and existing data plans will work on all Android and Apple 5G devices until roll-out is complete

Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecommunications services provider, today announced the launch of its cutting edge 5G services in Imphal, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar, as per the company's exchange filings.

Airtel 5G Plus services will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the roll out.

Customers with 5G enabled devices will enjoy high speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the roll out is more widespread.

Currently operational at Akampat area, War Cemetery, Dewlahland area, Takyelpat area, RIMS Imphal area, New Secretariat, Babupara area, Nagaram, Ghari, Uripok, Sagolband, and a few other select locations, SG Highway, Memnagar, Satellite, Navrangpura, Sabarmati, Motera, Chandkheda, South Bopal, Gomtipur, Memco, Bapunagar in Ahmedabad & Koba, Raysan , Sargasan, DA-IICT, Pethapur, and other key locations in Gandhinagar town. Airtel will augment its network making its services available across the city in due course of time.

Commenting on the launch, Rajnish Verma, CEO, Bharti Airtel, Assam and North East said, “I am thrilled to announce the launch of Airtel 5G Plus in Imphal. Airtel customers can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds upto 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. We are in the process of lighting up the entire city which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to High-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and more.”
