Elon Musk is a controversial figure, and divisive in terms of how divides opinions amongst his admirers and detractors. But, one thing than many cannot run away from accepting is the 'fact' that Musk in many ways is a maverick.

Streaming in Antarctica

Musk's companies, may it be Tesla, SpaceX, or the Boring company, all have been a part of some headline-grabbing acts. One of his latest ventures, Starlink, which is a company that provides satellite-based internet, has also made news from time to time.

An X user, who is said to be one of Elon Musk's admirers took to X share some news regarding one of the company's milestones.

The X user Mario Nawfal, who is known for his post supporting Musk and Trump shared a post boasting about th internet speed of the company services.

The only difference here was that the company services were being used in a continent far away, Antarctica.

In the post, Nawfal said, "STARLINK BRINGS 8K STREAMING TO ANTARCTICA."

Low Latency On Island

Further backing his stance, he added, "173 Mbps speed and 92 ms latency—in Antarctica!"

Nawfal, in addition also said, "Latency, the time it takes data to travel between devices, is crucial for smooth internet experiences."

In addition, the X user also claimed that at 92 milliseconds, Starlink delivers near real-time performance, even in the most remote location on Earth.

The satellite internet service was originally used by Adam Ghetti. Ghetti shared previously took to X shares images of him, ostensibly in Antarctica, along with apparent high speed internet, who could make himself available.

Starlink in India

In his post, he said, "173mbs and 92ms latency in Antarctica thanks to @Starlink all from the laptop compartment of a backpack... We live in the future!"

It is to be noted that Elon Musk himself reposted Mario Nawfal's post on his personal account.

Musk's Starlink is currently expanding its network all around the globe. In India, the company has been looking to enter the market, which could potentially open up a major revenue stream for the Musk-led company.

However, the company is stuck in regulatory hurdles, meanwhile facing a potentially stiff competition from Indian players including Bharti Airtel's OneWeb and Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance's Orbit Connect.
