Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Heavy rains have disrupted the daily lives of the residents all across the state of Madhya Pradesh. At some places, rainwater has entered the houses, and at other places it is sweeping even vehicles away.

Floodwater Enters Villages in Shivpuri, Villagers Risk Lives to Cross River

Heavy rains have led to flooding in several villages of Bairad tehsil in Shivpuri district. Homes were flooded with water and many villages now resemble ponds. In Jorai village, the situation is especially severe where parked vehicles have submerged and houses got heavily waterlogged.

Another incident occurred in which a tractor carrying villagers was almost swept away while crossing a flooded river. Fortunately, all passengers were rescued in time.

Local residents say they are forced to cross the river regularly because no bridges were built at key points. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, a road was constructed from Lukwasa to the Rajasthan border, but two important river crossings on the Karai River were left without bridges.

E-rickshaw Swept Away in Panna, Passengers Rescued Safely

Heavy rainfall in Panna district has created chaos. A major accident was narrowly avoided in Manki village, where an e-rickshaw got swept away in an overflowing drain.

The driver tried to cross the stream, but the strong current made the e-rickshaw lose balance and it was carried away by the water.

Passengers started screaming in panic. Fortunately, the e-rickshaw got stuck between rocks a short distance ahead. With the help of local villagers, everyone was rescued safely. No injuries were reported, but the rickshaw was damaged.

Heavy Rain Wreaks Havoc in Vijaypur and Sheopur

Sheopur has been witnessing heavy rainfall since Friday night, causing rivers like the Kuwari to overflow. In Benipuri village, floodwater entered a school, hostel, and around 20 homes. The lower bridge on the Kuwari River is submerged, and movement has been restricted to avoid accidents.

In Gauhta, walls of two mud houses collapsed, while in Siddhpura, debris fell from a school ceiling during class - children escaped unhurt. Near Lardeha, two bikers were rescued just in time after being swept toward a flooded culvert.

Despite official warnings, people continue to cross dangerous water bodies. Even the Harijan police station is waterlogged, exposing poor flood management. Authorities are being urged to act quickly to avoid bigger disasters.
