Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A video of celebratory firing has surfaced from the infamous Badnapura area of Gwalior, prompting police to register case against 6, including woman, on Sunday.
Elderly woman along with men was also seen firing indiscriminately in the video which prompted immediate police action.
According to police report, the incident took place at the wedding of Ranjeet and Varun Dhanawat, sons of Ajab Singh Dhanawat. The wedding was held in the narrow streets of Badnapura, a locality already reported for similar incidents in the past.
During the celebration in the wedding ceremony, many people fired with licensed and illegal weapons. In the video, some youths and a woman are seen firing guns openly which raises concern about public safety.
CSP Maharajpura, Nagendra Singh Sikarwar, confirmed that a video had gone viral on social media. In which, about half a dozen youths and a woman were seen opening fire continuously during a wedding.
After the police investigated the authenticity of the video, it was confirmed that it surfaced from Badnapura area of Purani Cantonment Police Station area.
Police took cognizance on the matter and identified the people seen in the video.
Purani Cantonment Police Station has registered a case of celebratory firing and use of illegal weapons against 6 people including a woman.
According to the police, the accused include Dholpur resident Shohel Dhanawat and Kuldeep Dhanawat, Badnapura resident Hemant alias Binu Dhanawat Monu alias Kharibedar Dhanawat son Roop Singh Dhanawat, Kalu Dhanawat and Sheesam Bai.
At present, the police is searching for all them.
