Datia (Madhya Pradesh): A video showing a woman being beaten by her husband’s fourth wife and sister outside the Datia district court has gone viral on social media on Wednesday.

In the video, the women can be seen pulling her hair and hitting her near the family court entrance.

According to information, the victim, Rajda Khan, had come to the court to attend a hearing in her case against her husband, Ayat Ullah Khan, from Jhansi.

Rajda had earlier filed for maintenance after Ayat Ullah left her.

In 2019, the court ordered him to pay ₹4,000 each to her and their child every month, which the High Court later increased to ₹5,000.

Despite the order, Ayat Ullah paid nothing and later married for the fourth time.

On Tuesday, police arrested Ayat Ullah in Jhansi and brought him to Datia court following a warrant.

His fourth wife and sister also reached the court and attacked Rajda outside the court building.

Lady police officers and lawyers present at the spot stepped in and separated the women. Police say Ayat Ullah owes Rajda around ₹3.19 lakh in maintenance.

A case of assault has been registered against the fourth wife and sister based on Rajda’s complaint, said Chirula police station in-charge Nitin Bhargava.
