Datia (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav visited Datia district on Friday and offered prayers at the famous Pitambara Peeth temple.
After seeking blessings from Maa Pitambara, he spoke to the media about the Madhya Pradesh government’s decision to ban liquor in 19 religious towns across the state.
CM Yadav stated that this decision, which came into effect on April 1, was made with the blessings of Maa Pitambara.

Sharing the visit on his official X handle, CM Yadav said, “The state government is undertaking several initiatives, one of which is the prohibition of alcohol in religious cities. I am pleased that we have announced and successfully implemented alcohol prohibition in more than 17 cities across the state. Today, I am visiting Datia, and I pray to the Goddess for her blessings on our service initiatives.”
Government committed to religious sentiments
He emphasized that the BJP government is committed to respecting religious sentiments and will continue to take decisions in the public interest.
He also announced plans to develop religious cities, including Datia, as major tourism hubs. This initiative aims to promote faith-based tourism while also creating job opportunities and boosting development.
