Datia (Madhya Pradesh): The Vande Bharat Express has begun stopping at Datia railway station from May 13.
This new halt was approved by the Railway Ministry after a request from Bhind - Datia MP Sandhya Rai, who flagged off the train on Tuesday.
On Tuesday the Khajuraho Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22469/22470) officially began halting at Datia station. As of now the stop has been given on a trial basis, after efforts by MP Sandhya Rai.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw approved the request for halt after receiving the proposal from Sandhya Rai. The train was flagged off by the MP, marking the start of this service. Railway Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Singh confirmed that the new halt became effective from May 13, 2025.

According to the new timetable Train 22469, which runs from Khajuraho to Hazrat Nizamuddin, will stop at Datia from 6:42 PM to 6:44 PM. It will then halt at Gwalior from 7:28 PM to 7:33 PM. On the return journey, Train 22470 from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Khajuraho will stop at Datia between 9:59 AM and 10:01 AM, and at Jhansi from 10:30 AM to 10:35 AM.
Due to these changes in the train schedules , the Agra Cantt --Jhansi Express (Train No. 11902) will also now halt at Karari station from 10:13 AM to 10:14 AM.
Railway officials have encouraged passengers to make the most of this new facility and enjoy improved connectivity from Datia.This development is a result of public demand and the active efforts of MP Sandhya Rai. The halt at Datia has been started on a trial basis and is expected to benefit a large number of passengers from the region.
