Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Badnawar-Ujjain four-lane highway. Constructed under the Bharatmala Project, the four-lane road in Badnawar, Dhar district, has been built at a cost of ₹1,352 crore.
Gadkari also laid foundation stone of a total of 10 National Highway projects - spanning 328 kilometers and involving an investment of over ₹5,800 crore - in Kheda, Badnawar, and Dhar, on Thursday.
At the event Gadkari announced, five greenfield economic corridors will be built in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of ₹33k crore. A world-class iconic bridge will also be constructed over the Narmada River in Omkareshwar. In addition, six ropeways will be developed at a cost of ₹1,200 crore.
'Roads in MP better than America!'
The minister added, "I assure you that in the next two years, Madhya Pradesh’s national highway network will be better than America’s. Whatever I promise, I will deliver, loud and clear."
The primary event took place in Kheda village near Badnawar. The project, developed under the Bharatmala scheme, spans 69.1 kilometers and has been completed at a cost of ₹1,352 crore.

7. A six-lane widening project from Misrod to Obedullaganj will be undertaken at a cost of ₹280 crore.
8. Following the inauguration ceremony, Minister Gadkari arrived at Ujjain Police Line Helipad at 1:35 pm to visit Mahakaleshwar Temple at 2:00 pm for darshan.
9. The new highway is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and reduce travel time between Ujjain and Badnawar.

Specifications of highways
According to information, constructed under the Hybrid Annuity Model, the newly inaugurated highway complies with Indian safety standards and is built to accommodate high-speed vehicular movement.
Light vehicles will be able to travel at speeds of up to 100 km/h, while heavy vehicles can move at 80 km/h. To address future traffic demands, each lane of the highway has been built with a width of 9 meters.
After the inauguration, Union Minister Nitin Gadkar went to Ujjain Police Line Helipad at 1:35 pm and proceeded to the Mahakaleshwar Temple for darshan at 2:00 pm.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, PWD Minister Rakesh Singh, MP Nagar Singh Chauhan, Union Minister of State Savitri Thakur, and Members of Parliament Anita Nagar Singh Chauhan, Shankar Lalwani, Anil Firojiya, Sudhir Gupta, Rodmal Nagar, and other MLAs, officials, and dignitaries were present for the ceremonies.
