Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): As part of the ongoing Swachhata Survekshan-2024 under Garbage Free City (GFC) initiative, second survey teams from Delhi hit the streets of Bhopal on Saturday, collecting public feedback on cleanliness and sanitation services.

Focusing on door-to-door garbage collection, waste segregation, road sweeping and overall satisfaction, the teams asked nearly 40 questions to residents.

They visited various locations, including ward 80 of Kolar (Zone 18), ward 70 of Zone 11 and multiple wards from Zones 6 and 19, covering about 20 different points across the city.

The survey process began as soon as the Urban Local Body (ULB) portal opened from Delhi, allowing teams to receive real-time online locations. Interestingly, while Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) was aware of active wards, the exact survey points remained unknown to local officials.

In response, Assistant Health Officers (AHOs) across all 21 zones stayed on high alert. As soon as wards in Zones 9 and 17 went live, AHOs mobilised their field staff per beat charts to ensure readiness.

Apart from this, the survey holds significant weightage of 1,300 marks for effective garbage processing, prompting the BMC to highlight key initiatives like development of a Bio-CNG Plant and a Torrefied Charcoal Plant from city waste.

All municipal zones are on high alert, with staff working round-the-clock to maintain cleanliness and support the survey mission.
