Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may arrest some people in connection with the rip-off by a former constable of the Transport of Department Saurabh Sharma. After questioning Sharma and his accomplices Chetan Singh and Sharad Jaiswal, ED sleuths hit upon some clues about a few people.
According to sources, after quizzing the trio ED has gathered information about filching of money from the department’s check posts. According to reports, ED has come to know how the money collected from the check posts was transferred to the accounts of the officials of the Transport Department and to those who extorted money from the check posts, instead of sending it to the government treasury.
According to sources, ED is trying to make some officers of the Transport Department as accused in the case. The probe agency may also arrest some people who were doing businesses with the trio. ED also questioned Sharma and his accomplices about 52kg gold and Rs 11 crore found in a car at Mendori in the state capital. The agency may make a major disclosure in connection with the gold and cash. The agency is getting ready to call Sharma’s mother and wife for questioning. Apart from them, ED will question all those who have been made accused in the case.
I-T department to question
The officials of I-T Department are also getting ready to question former constable of the Transport Department Saurabh Sharma and his two accomplices in jail. I-T will quiz the trio after interrogation by the Lokayukta Special Police Establishment (SPE) and ED. It is the I-T Department which has found the gold and cash in the car. So, the agency will question them about the sources of the money and gold.
