Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): In a significant development in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, the court has placed Gwalior-based builder Lokendra Singh Tomar on a three-day transit remand.

Tomar is accused of instructing property dealer Shilom James to burn a black bag containing crucial evidence, including ₹5 lakh and a pistol linked to the case.

Tomar was transferred to the Shillong police for further interrogation. He claimed ignorance about the bag, asserting that once released, he would address the allegations in a press conference.

The investigation has already seen eight arrests, including that of the prime accused, Sonam Raghuvanshi. Tomar is also the owner of the Indore apartment where Sonam, Raja’s wife, had stayed following his murder in the Sohra area of Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district.

“James has revealed Tomar’s involvement in the destruction of evidence. He is claiming that he acted on Tomar’s instructions, but we will get more clarity once the latter arrives here and the two are questioned together,” an officer said.
