Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The probe against Turkish company Asis Electronics, which installed Automatic Fare Collection centres at Bhopal and Indore Metro Railway Stations is still underway.
If it is not completed till the launch of Bhopal Metro then like Indore, physical ticket distribution for Metro passengers will be ushered in Bhopal as well.
Asis Electronics had installed the Automatic Fare Collection machines in Indore and Bhopal Metro railway stations. When India and Pakistan were at loggerheads during Operation Sindoor, it came to the fore that drones made by Turkish company Asisguard were used against India by Pakistan.
After Operation Sindoor, Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya had demanded probe against Asis Electronics. In wake of this, Automatic Fare Collection system of Asis Electronics has been kept in abeyance at Indore Metro stations. The Centre is conducting probe against Asis Electronics.
Sources in Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation said that though there is likelihood that probe against Asis will be completed before the rollout of Bhopal Metro. But if it is not, then the Automatic Fare Collection units of Asis will not be used at Bhopal Metro station and only physical tickets will be used alike Indore.
