Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A long standing rivalry between two groups of student turned deadly on Thursday when both the groups opened fire at each other leaving one dead and 4 people seriously injured.
The incident took place at Milhera Tiraha situated in Ambah police station area. Police have registered a case against 14 people from both the groups.
According to police, Aryan and Ajay Tomar, sons of Birpal Tomar and residents of Milhera village, which falls under the limits of Ambah police station area of the district, had a 6-month old history of disputes with Amandeep Tomar, a resident of Sikrodi.
Intense fight occurred
Aryan and Amandeep are both students of 12th class and they had a intense fight few days back. A case was registered regarding the matter at Ambah police station.
According to information, Aryan was standing with his elder brother Ajay Tomar and his friends at Midhela Chungi, Pinhat Road. On receiving this information, Amandeep Tomar reached there armed with weapons along with his friends, after which the violence occurred.
After confrontation, both the group started firing
Eyewitnesses claim that as soon as the two groups came face to face, a heated argument broke out, quickly escalating into indiscriminate gunfire from both sides. In the crossfire, Aryan and Ajay Tomar sustained bullet injuries. Amandeep Tomar was also shot in the neck, while 45-year-old Satyaveer alias Lala Tomar, a bystander who tried to intervene, was shot in the leg.
Amandeep and Aryan remains critical
All injured were initially rushed to the district hospital, and later referred to Gwalior for advanced treatment. Unfortunately, Ajay Tomar, who was shot in his head, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The condition of Amandeep and Aryan remains critical.
CCTV footage of this incident has also surfaced. A team of Ambah police has been sent to Gwalior to take statements of the injured.
The post-mortem of the deceased is being done. A team has been formed and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused and their records are being searched. In this case, FIR has been filed against 6 named persons and 3 other people from one side, while a case has been registered against 5 accused from the other side.
