Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): DGP Kailash Makwana described the overhauling of Dial-100 statewide emergency response service as highlight of his tenure as top cop.

“My seven-and-a-half-month tenure has been worthwhile due to the successful revamp of Dial-100,” said Makwana while addressing the media on Tuesday.

The DGP highlighted the achievements of the police department and also presented a roadmap for future initiatives. He informed that a team of expert officers was given the task of overhauling Dial-100.

The officers worked diligently, and from this Independence Day, August 15, a new phase of the Dial-100 system will be launched across the state, the DGP announced.

The senior officer said that the recruitment process of 8,500 police personnel of different ranks is pending and soon the government will take decision on the policy.

Speaking about the E-HRMS portal, the officer said that it would provide service-related details of police constables, including their promotions, transfers, rewards, and disciplinary actions. Both the department and employees will have access to these details, he added.

‘Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori’ campaign launched

DGP Makwana formally launched state-wide campaign against drug abuse ‘Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori’ by unveiling its poster and reading out a message of the Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. ADG Narcotics KP Venkateshwar Rao was also present on the occasion. The campaign will be run till July 30 across all districts of the state.

"The word 'drugs' brings to mind a weak body, intoxicated eyes, and darkness. Drug addiction is destroying the young generation and their families. The top political leadership of the country and the state is also concerned about the serious problem and is making efforts to resolve it," said the DGP.
