Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a poignant expression of solidarity and outrage, members of the Muslim community held protests after Friday prayers, condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in tragic loss of innocent lives.

Assembling at Imami Gate, hundreds of protestors, including women and children, donned black ribbons on their arms as a sign of mourning and defiance. The gathering culminated in the burning of an effigy representing terrorism, symbolising their strong rejection of violence.

The protestors voiced their condemnation of the attack on tourists, stating that killing of innocent people is a crime against all of humanity.

They called for strictest action against perpetrators and demanded that the government permit Muslims to assist at the Pakistan border in combatting terrorism, emphasising their loyalty to the country.

“Terrorism does not represent any community or religion; it is a menace that must be dealt with firmly,” they said.

Aman Khan, one of the protestors, said that they offered their Friday prayers with black ribbons to honour the victims of Pahalgam attack. “Killing of innocent tourists is an intolerable incident. We prayed for peace and prosperity of our country and complete end to terrorism,” he said.

Maulana Sayyad Anas Ali highlighted the Quranic perspective on violence, saying that, “Allah states that a person who kills another man kills all of humanity.”

The women protestors expressed their commitment to building a brighter and safer future for their children.
