Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A South African female Cheetah-- Daksha, died at Kuno National Park on Tuesday due to aggression by a male Cheetah during sexual intercourse.
This is the third death of a South African cheetah at Kuno in two months, giving another jolt to government's Cheetah Conservation Project.
As per the release by Kuno National Park, the monitoring team found severly injured Daksh on Tuesday morning. The injury marks on her body suggested aggressive intercourse by Male Cheetah-- which is quite common in big cats. She was given medical tratment, however could not survive for more than few hours.
A few weeks ago, in April, a six-year-old male Cheetah Uday translocated from South Africa to Kuno National Park had died due to cardiopulmonary failure.

On March 27, female Namibian cheetah Sasha died due to a kidney ailment at the national park.
Notably, the two were among the 20 cheetahs translocated from South Africa and Namibia under 'Project Cheetah'. Its death came two days after all cheetahs were given Indian names.
