Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The intense cold wave in Madhya Pradesh is expected to take a temporary break over the next three days, with night temperatures rising by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius until January 31. However, starting February 1, a fresh spell of rain is likely to impact more than half of the state due to an active western disturbance. On Wednesday, several districts are expected to witness cloudy skies and drizzle.
According to IMD Bhopal, while night temperatures will increase, daytime temperatures will remain stable. Most cities in the state are currently experiencing daytime temperatures around 25-26 degrees Celsius, whereas nighttime temperatures have dipped below 5 degrees in several areas. Over the next few days, nighttime temperatures are expected to rise to around 7-8 degrees Celsius.
Despite the slight relief at night, cold winds during the day will continue to bring a chill across Madhya Pradesh. On Tuesday, the impact of strong winds was noticeable, with cold air sweeping through the region. In North-West India, jet stream winds at an altitude of 12.6 km were recorded at a speed of 268 km/h, influencing weather patterns in Madhya Pradesh as well. Wind speeds in the state ranged between 12 to 14 km/h.
Western Disturbance to Trigger Rain from February 1
IMD Bhopal has confirmed that a western disturbance will become active in the region from February 1, altering the weather conditions across Madhya Pradesh for at least four days. From February 1 to 4, light rainfall is expected in parts of eastern and southern Madhya Pradesh, including districts from the Rewa, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior, Chambal, and Narmadapuram divisions. Meanwhile, some districts may also experience drizzles as early as January 29.
Weather Forecast for the Next Two Days
January 29: Light drizzle is possible in districts including Bhopal, Indore, Chhindwara, Sehore, Panna, Rajgarh, Singrauli, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, and Ashoknagar.
January 30: No rainfall is expected, but daytime cold will persist while night temperatures remain higher than usual.
As temperatures showed a slight rise during the day on Tuesday, the upcoming weather patterns indicate fluctuating conditions, with a mix of rising temperatures and potential rainfall in the first week of February. Residents are advised to stay updated on changing weather conditions.
