MP January 22 Weather Update: Day Temperatures Rises Above 25°C, Nights Still Below 10°C; Chill Expected To Return On January 24

The Meteorological Department predicts another wave of cold weather beginning January 24, with northern winds likely to bring a drop in nighttime temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The cold days have taken a backseat in Madhya Pradesh as a shift in wind patterns has brought warmer daytime temperatures across most regions. Daytime temperatures in many cities have crossed 25 degrees Celsius, accompanied by bright sunshine. However, the cold continues to persist at night, with several cities like Bhopal, Mandla, Pachmarhi, Rajgarh, Umaria, and Nowgong recording minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department predicts another wave of cold weather beginning January 24, with northern winds likely to bring a drop in nighttime temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius. Senior meteorologist stated that light rain may occur in the Gwalior-Chambal region on January 22, followed by clearer weather from January 23.

The last four days have seen significant changes in the state's weather. Cities that were previously experiencing cold waves and daytime temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius are now witnessing warmer days with reduced cold impact. Night temperatures have also risen in several places.

January 22: Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, and Morena may witness light rainfall, with fog in the morning across Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Chhatarpur.

January 23: The weather is expected to clear, with no fog or rain alerts.

Indore: Indore holds a record for sub-zero temperatures, with the mercury dipping to -1.1°C on January 16, 1935. The warmest January day was recorded at 33.9°C on January 27, 1990. The city witnessed its highest 24-hour rainfall of over 3 inches on January 6, 1920, with the highest monthly rainfall of 4 inches that same year.
