Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has once again made headlines with his unconventional decisions. This time, he has pledged not to wear ironed clothes for a year to save electricity. His unique vow has sparked discussions across the state.

According to Tomar, skipping ironing will save half a unit of electricity daily. He stated that he would only wear pressed clothes on the day of his daughter's wedding. The minister said he took this pledge for a sustainable future, ensuring that future generations do not face energy crises.

According to information, the statement was made by Tomar during a public event in Gwalior. As expected, the move has triggered a political debate. The Congress party has mocked Tomar’s decision, calling it a mere publicity stunt. Congress state vice-president R.P. Singh labeled it as the "next episode in the minister’s web series of gimmicks." He further suggested that if Tomar truly wanted to conserve energy, he should ditch his fleet of official vehicles and switch to cycling.

Common citizens have also reacted to the minister’s statement. Many believe that ironing clothes is a basic necessity, especially for formal occasions. Some even argued that avoiding ironing has little impact on electricity consumption. As debates continue, only time will tell how much electricity will actually be saved by this 'pledge'. However, for now, Minister Tomar’s statement has certainly grabbed the spotlight in Madhya Pradesh.
