Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bihar is passing through a new dawn and hence, an NDA government is the need of the hour, said Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on the state that goes to polls later this year, even as he underscored its ties with Madhya Pradesh.

Yadav also announced on Sunday that a park will be developed in the city in the name of Bihar native and former president Dr Rajendra Prasad, whose statue will also be installed. The CM was addressing a ‘Sneha Milan Samaroh’ at the BJP office here for the first time to mark Bihar Diwas. Many senior party leaders, including MP Minister of State Krishna Gaur, attended the event.  Recalling Bihar’s history, Yadav said the state came into existence in 1912.

On how the state has ties with MP, he spoke about emperor Ashoka and his 10-year stay in Avantika (now Ujjain); and how the Bhojpuri dialect is associated with Raja Bhoj.  When invaders attacked the kingdom of Raja Bhoj, people took shelter in Bihar to protect their religion and culture, he said. The Chief Minister also appealed to the Bhojpuri people who were present, to teach a lesson to the Congress and its allies in Bihar’s coming assembly elections.

BJP state president V.D. Sharma said that during the Emergency, Bihar played a key role in saving the democracy with Jai Prakash Narayan raising his voice against it. He exhorted the migrant population from Bihar to support the BJP in assembly elections. Bihar’s Minister Raju Kumar Singh said many great people hailed from his state, such as Ashoka the Great.
