Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for 13 districts on Friday. On the contrary, several parts of Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive light rain starting April 26, for the next three days.
The change in weather is attributed to a western disturbance and a trough system. However, most areas of the state will continue to experience intense heat and heatwave conditions.
Weather expected on Friday
On April 25 (Friday), heatwave conditions are expected in Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari.
Cities like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur will experience very hot weather.

What do meteorologists say?
According to senior meteorologists, over the next four days, some areas will experience strong heat waves while others may see light rain with thunder. After that, hot and dry weather will return across the state.
Temperature records
On Thursday, Khajuraho and Nowgaon in Chhatarpur district recorded the highest temperatures in the state. Khajuraho reached a scorching 44.4°C, while Nowgaon recorded 43.7°C.
In major cities like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, temperatures crossed 40°C. Gwalior was the hottest among the five major cities, recording 41.8°C, followed by Ujjain (41.6°C), Bhopal (41.2°C), and both Indore and Jabalpur at 40.8°C.
Only Pachmarhi, the state’s lone hill station, remained relatively cooler with a temperature of 36.6°C.

Weather expected in next 2 days
On April 26, light rain with thunder may occur in Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, Bhind, Datia, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat. Heatwave conditions will continue in Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, and Khargone.
Whereas on April 27, rain is likely in Morena, Bhind, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Umaria, Dindori, Anuppur, Mandla, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Narmadapuram, Betul, and Harda. Heatwaves will affect Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Jhabua, Dhar, Alirajpur, Barwani, and Khargone.
